In the 90s, N. St. Mary’s Brewing Company became a fan favorite with Trinity students. Known for their wide variety of drinks and drink specials, college nights, and their support for original live music, playing seven nights a week.1 They served American deli food with a Cajun twist and their own iconic 16-ounce mug. Within two years of opening, "Brew Co" became a great place for Trinity students to hang out. 2
The N. St. Mary's Brewing Company was one of the places for live music. In addition to ads, the Trinitonian featured acts playing at N. St. Mary’s Brewing Company in its music guide, Live Wire and Whats Shakin.
The newspaper even mentioned the closeness of Brew Co in one of their weekly guides, reminding students “they could always walk home if necessary, not that it is even a possibility for upstanding Trinity students”.3
N. St. Mary’s Brewing Company soon became the coolest place to check out not just regional bands, but Trinity talent.
An issue of the Trinitonian featured Andrew Oliver of Austin for his songwriting.4 Andrew performed as an opener at the Brew Co for the Byron West Band, who coincidentally was another Trinity Band with Austin roots.
The N. St. Mary's Brewing Company offered Trinity bands a place to play regularly. As an example, Trinity bands, the Stray Toasters and Some Other Jackson were seen there often in the spring of 1995. Shown here is a series of flyers from their shows, shared with the project by former Stray Toasters member Nathan Cone.
The N. St. Mary's Brewing Company, and many of the bands that preformed there, were featured on the local late-night television show called The Scene. One ad in the Trinitonian from September 1995, put a call out for band auditions and notice of filming. At least one Trinity band, Intentions, were featured on the show.

N. St. Mary’s Brewing Company has a special place in many Trinity alumni’s hearts. It was their local bar, music scene, and even stage for some.
